Poly Edge E Series Setup Guide — E100 to E450
The Poly Edge E series is the current-generation successor to the VVX line and provisions on Signal the same way: MAC + model in the portal, connect, self-configure. Edge models add integrated Bluetooth, optional Wi-Fi, and pagination keys that multiply effective line keys.
Model comparison
Model | Physical keys | Effective lines (paging) | Screen | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
E100/E220 | 2/4 | 8 | Color | Compact |
E300/E320 | 4 | 16 | Color | E320 adds Bluetooth |
E350 | 6 | 24 | Color | Mainstream desk unit |
E400 | 8 | 32 | Color | |
E450 | 8 | 32 | Color | Bluetooth; common front-desk unit |
Key pagination means a physical key hosts multiple assignments across pages — plan BLF walls accordingly (status at a glance only works for the visible page; heavy reception desks still benefit from sidecar-class layouts on E450 or a VVX 600).
Factory reset
- Menu → Settings → Advanced (admin password; default
456). - Administration Settings → Reset to Defaults → Reset Device Settings (or Reset to Factory for a full wipe).
- For a phone locked by a previous provider: use the boot-time reset — power-cycle and hold the four corner keys when prompted, then enter the admin password (often the phone's MAC, lowercase).
Wi-Fi deployment note
Wi-Fi-capable Edge models work on wireless, but desk phones belong on wired PoE wherever possible: roaming and airtime contention are the call-quality variables you can't QoS away. Reserve Wi-Fi for locations where cabling is genuinely impractical.
