Yealink T5 Series Setup Guide — T53, T54W, T57W
Yealink T5-series phones provision on Signal exactly like Polycom units: enter MAC and model, connect, and the phone configures itself. The T5 line offers strong value with color screens, built-in Wi-Fi on W models, and inexpensive EXP50 expansion modules.
Model comparison
Model | Line keys | Screen | Wi-Fi | Expansion |
|---|---|---|---|---|
T53/T53W | 12 (paged) | Mono | W model | EXP50 ×3 |
T54W | 16 (paged, 10 physical) | Color | Yes | EXP50 ×3 |
T57W | 29 (touch, paged) | Color touch | Yes | EXP50 ×3 |
Factory reset
Hold the OK key for ~10 seconds while the phone is idle, confirm the prompt, and the phone resets and reboots. Alternatively: Menu → Settings → Advanced Settings (default password admin) → Reset to Factory. Phones from another provider may have a changed admin password — the long-press OK method usually still works; otherwise use the web interface if credentials are known.
Provisioning entry
If DHCP option 66 isn't configured: Menu → Settings → Advanced Settings → Auto Provision, set the server URL to Signal's provisioning address, and confirm. The phone fetches configuration and reboots.
Deployment notes
- Firmware is served by provisioning; don't flash manually.
- On mixed Polycom/Yealink fleets, keep one house layout standard — key positions differ, so define layouts by role ("front desk = BLF page of all staff + two park keys") and map per model.
- T5 W-models on Wi-Fi: same guidance as all desk phones — wired PoE first.
