Polycom VVX 600 / 601 Setup — the Reception-Desk Touchscreen
The Polycom VVX 600/601 is the large-format touchscreen of the VVX family: 16 on-screen line keys, the biggest display, and support for up to three sidecars — built for reception desks that watch the whole office's status while juggling calls.
Why reception desks get this phone
- 16 visible tiles before any scrolling — a small office's entire BLF set on one screen.
- Sidecars extend to physical BLF walls for larger sites.
- Touch flows match the VVX 500: Transfer, Blind, Confrnc, park tiles.
Layout advice for high-volume desks
- Page one: park slots first (top strip), then the transfer targets used hourly. Alphabetical BLF walls read slower than frequency-ordered ones under pressure.
- Use consistent label conventions ("FD2", "Dr S") — abbreviations chosen by the person who answers, not by the admin alone.
- Pair with a headset; touch + headset beats handset-on-shoulder for all-day operators.
Reset and provisioning
