Yealink EXP50 Expansion Module — BLF Walls for T5 Phones
The Yealink EXP50 adds 60 assignments (20 physical keys × 3 pages) to a T5-series phone — the standard answer when a reception desk outgrows the phone's own keys. Up to three modules daisy-chain from one phone.
Connecting
- Attach the EXP50 to the phone's expansion port with the supplied bracket and cable; chain additional modules module-to-module.
- Power: a single EXP50 draws from the phone (PoE budget permitting — class check your switch port); multi-module chains need the power adapter.
- The phone detects the module; keys become configurable immediately.
Configuring keys
Sidecar keys are configured in the same portal screen as the phone's own line keys — positions continue past the phone's onboard keys. BLF, speed dial, and park types all apply.
Layout design for BLF walls
- Physical pages hide status. Only the active page's lamps show — put the must-see-at-a-glance set (park slots, senior staff) on page one of the phone, and overflow the long tail to the sidecar.
- Group by team/floor, order by call frequency within groups.
- Print the layout and date it; sidecar walls drift out of sync with reality faster than any other phone config.
