Voicemail-to-Email Not Arriving — Delivery Checklist
When voicemail-to-email stops arriving, the message almost always left the platform and died in email-land: spam filtering, an attachment policy, or a mistyped address. Confirm a voicemail actually exists in the box for the missing window, then work the email path.
The checklist
- Is the message in the box? If the phone shows no new voicemail either, the problem is routing/greeting, not email delivery.
- Spam and quarantine — search all mail/quarantine for the sending domain. One user's "mark as spam" click can quarantine the whole pattern for a domain. Whitelist the sender.
- Address exactness — check the box's recipient list for typos and for a departed employee's address (bounces can suspend delivery attempts silently).
- Attachment policy — corporate mail that strips .wav attachments yields notification-only emails or nothing; if so, deliver to a compliant mailbox or use transcription-only.
- Delete-after-delivery confusion — if enabled, messages vanish from the phone once emailed; users who "lost voicemails" may be describing this working as designed.
Testing cleanly
Leave a test message from a mobile, note the time, and trace: box inbox → email within a minute or two. That single data point separates platform-side from email-side definitively.
